A great (and recurring) moment in Kalf history was relived this morning as we showed up for church right on time at 10:30. Unfortunately, everyone else had shown up at 10am, but apparently forgot to tell the web master about the change in plans. (Be sure to ask a local Kalf about other times this may have happened.) We did catch the last line of the sermon (“While we needed achieve independence from Britain to be great, we need to be dependent on God to be great”) which made us think that it may have been more political than we were ready to deal with before a few cups of coffee.
After church we sorted, packed, cleaned, and did laundry in preparation for our week in “dinosaur camp.” Alan’s enrolled in a course for the week of July 7-11 called “Paleontology of the Hell’s Creek Formation,” which meets in Glendive, MT, about 360 miles east of here. So we’ll be backtracking a lot! The course was full, but after talking to the program director and the professor, they said because we were willing to drive there ourselves and camp (instead of sharing cabins with other students), it would be no problem. So another 700 miles of driving and a bit more tuition, and we’ll have two more credits under our belt and the experience of a lifetime! This means that there will probably be no internet (or possibly cell phone) connection until Friday afternoon when we get back in Bozeman. (Barring any unforeseen adventures with animals. The dinosaurs are long dead, but the mosquitoes, gnats, and flies are present in Biblical proportions.) So take care, be safe, and we’ll write more when we get back to civilization!
P.S. Speaking of recurring moments … it’s 11:36 and we’re FINALLY ready to go, so no pictures unless we get internet this week. We’ll post the caverns as soon as we can.

That's okay, you missed a very too much political sermon at the Lutheran church of Bedford..... Did you know that there are forces out there right now that want to DESTROY OUR COUNTRY AND OUR FREEDOMS???!!!! If people don't keep signing up to make the ULTIMATE SACRIFICE by joining the military, then all freedoms will be lost. Including RELIGIOUS FREEDOM which is even now in jeopardy! We wanted to tell him that, yeah, it's pretty crappy for Muslims right now, so awful that Obama has to keep protesting that he's not a muslim... but I don't think that was what the creationist was talking about. Oh, and Christ makes us free to join the army. Yeah, we're not going back to that church.
