Geology of Yellowstone

It was FREEZING cold last night, and I couldn’t sleep without Cara. I was happy for the cat’s company in the morning! After making coffee and eating breakfast I went to school and the temperature was much nicer. I found a shady spot to park the truck, and left Ollie in the back while I went to class.

This week’s class is “Geology of Yellowstone.” It’s taught by the same prof that did the geology portion of the dinosaur class, so I know I’m going to learn a lot. I think that, like the dino class, how much I learn depends on my personal motivation. Plenty of info will be presented, but how much sticks depends on me. In these one-week courses there isn’t enough time to do a lot of testing. There were some familiar faces in the class, which was nice to see.

At lunch I moved the truck to a new shady spot. Unfortunately the lot was apparently closed for cleaning, because when I got back I found a parking ticket and a threat to be towed if I didn’t move it right then. I’m going to appeal , and if they won’t reconsider this will be my rationale for never paying into the alumnus fund.

When I got back from class I chopped some more wood to work out my frustration and work up an appetite. I read some articles and worked on homework, played some music, then went to bed.

Cara got the lock jimmied so she can get to her interviews this week. She says it’s strange to be home without me! When she was moving cars around in the drive way the jeep’s power steering failed, so it’ll be a little harder to sell when we get back.
