Westward, No!

Dear Fans,

So sorry for the delay … we know how you are all counting on us. But the truth is, we got pretty worn out going so many miles in so few days, and just when we got to Bozeman and thought we could relax, Alan started class, bringing with it all sorts of obligations …

So, picking up where we left off, it was Saturday night, and we were going to continue on to Mount Rushmore. But by the time we finished dinner and returned to the Badlands for the sunset pictures already posted, it was (obviously) getting dark. Alan found, to his surprise, that he was tired of driving, so we found a small pets-welcome motel in town (from whence we posted the last two blogs).

The room was impressively small. You took one step in the door and your knees knocked the full-sized bed. Alan measured it at 7 by 9 feet. The bathroom was just big enough for toilet, sink, and closet shower (although you did not have to sit on the toilet to use the sink). There was no closet in the room, just a long hook with multiple dents for hangers.
