Badlands Cougar

We were taking this great picture in Badlands National Park when a man joked, Oh, is that a Badlands cougar?!

Well, it was a pretty short day for driving, but a long day for touring. This morning we started out by visiting THE WORLD’S ONLY CORN PALACE! Mitchell, South Dakota. Life-changing. Check out the lady in the upstairs window in the saloon across the street.

The Badlands were so big and beautiful they were overwhelming. We also visited the famous Wall Drug in Wall, SD, which was also a little overwhelming. A mall and campy tourist stuff, all rolled into one.

I took hundreds of pictures today, so I’ll let them do the talking. One thousand words, two thousand words, three thousand words …

the wind was UNBELIEVABLE

the deals at Wall Drug were awesome
(This poster reads: FREE BOOTS! Left boot free with purchase of right one!)
one of the convenient things about Wall Drug was they had places to hobble your cat

one of the Wall Lions

I was going to post twice this many pictures, but uploading takes about 10 minutes each, so this will have to do for now!

The Corn Palace is my favorite cheesy place on earth. It blew my mind when I went there as a 9-year-old... who knew that corn came in TWO colors?!?

Did you drink the $.05 coffee at Wall Drug? And the free water? And then..... use the free bathrooms?

Wow! The badlands are wonderful; I feel like I belong there & so does Susan. I saw a science show on rattlesnake bites, so if you get bitten, just contact me and I can tell you. step by step, what's going to occur...It starts with delirium...
Ansel Adams would drool.
